What is the Bill Payment (BPAY) Service?

The Bill Payment Service offers you the convenience of being able to pay your bills at any time and place you wish, 24 hours a day. BPAY enables you to make payments to over 3,500 registered billers. You do not need to register to use BPAY you simply need to have a bill that has the biller details present (including biller code and reference number).

You have the option of selecting immediate, future, or recurring Bill Payments.

A history of your bill payment transactions and their associated status can be reviewed in order to confirm payment of previous bills.

How long does it take for a Pay Anyone payment to reach another bank?

The daily cut-off for Pay Anyone payment requests is 3.30 p.m. (Eastern Standard or Summer Time)

Payments sent prior to 3.30 p.m. will be processed overnight and will arrive at the destination account by 9 a.m. the next business day*.

Payments sent after 3.30 p.m. will take 2 business days to arrive in the Payee's account.

*Elders Rural Bank can not guarantee this because we are reliant on the destination financial institution to process the transaction into the destination account.

How long does it take for a Bill Payment to reach a Biller?

The daily cut-off time for Bill Payment requests is 5 p.m (Eastern Standard or Summer Time).

Payments sent prior to 5 p.m. will be processed overnight. Payments sent after 5 p.m. will take 2 business days to process.

Can I cancel a Bill Payment transaction?

Unfortunately, you are not able to cancel immediate Pay Anyone or Bill Payment transfers. If you have set up a future dated Pay Anyone or Bill Payment, you have the option of canceling the transaction.

You can cancel a future Bill Payment, Pay Anyone transaction by following these steps:

  • Access the 'Payments' function.
  • Select 'Future payments list' from the menu.
  • Select the transaction you wish to cancel and click on the 'Cancel Payment' button.

Can I use Internet Banking to process my payroll?

Customers with a Seasonal Overdraft, Term Loan or AgriManager can up-load payroll files (in an ABA format) using the Bulk Payments facility.

Bulk Payments will allow a one-withdrawal transaction to cover the total value of the file. There is an added security feature through an authentication process using a security token supplied by the Bank. The cost of a security token is included in the set-up fee for Bulk Payments*.

Provided your business is using ABA format software, there will be no need for additional software to support the Bulk Payments facility. If necesssary, software can be supplied as part of the Bulk Payments service.

Information regarding the registration for the Bulk Payments service can be obtained via the Elders Rural Bank Customer Service Centre by phoning 1300 660 115.

*The current fees for Bulk Payments can be found in the current Schedule of Fees and Charges.

What can I do if I make an incorrect payment using the Pay Anyone or Bill Payment services?

Unfortunately, Elders Rural Bank is not able to stop a Pay Anyone, or Bill Payment once it has been sent (unless it is future dated). If you have approved an incorrect payment, Elders Rural Bank will undertake a Bill Payment / Pay Anyone Investigation. These investigations are usually completed within 5 business days depending on the action of the other institution (payment destination).

If you think you may have submitted incorrect payment details, please contact the Elders Rural Bank Internet and Phone Banking Support service on 1300 651 839, and provide details of the incorrect payment.

What should I do if my Bill Payment or Pay Anyone payment hasn't been received?

Elders Rural Bank can investigate any Pay Anyone or Bpay transaction on your account that you believe is either incorrect, has been sent to an incorrect reference number or has not been received.

If you wish to have this transaction investigated, please contact the Elders Rural Bank Internet and Phone Banking Support service on 1300 651 839 and we will lodge a dispute with our EFT Disputes Department. We will contact the relevant institution on your behalf and request an investigation for the transaction.

Can I make overdue payments to my loan account(s)?

Yes, customers are able to use Internet Banking to make overdue payments to loan accounts, in most circumstances.

You will need to use the Pay Anyone function to send the payment from another Elders Rural Bank account.

If overdue payments are not successful, please contact Elders Rural Bank on 1300 660 115 to have it investigated.

Can I send a payment overseas?

Unfortunately No. You can only send payments via the Internet Banking service to financial institutions within Australia*.

  • All payments to accounts outside of Australia are sent via International Funds Transfer, normal International Funds Transfer fees will apply. Please contact Elders Rural Bank on 1300 660 115, to request a International Funds Transfer.
  • *Any financial institution identified with a valid BSB number.

What details are required to make payments to another person's, or business' account?

You will need the following information to make a payment to another person's account using the Pay Anyone service.

The BSB number - Six digits in length, the BSB number identifies the bank and branch of the payee's bank account.

The Account Number - This is the account number where the payment will end up. You can transfer funds to any Elders Rural Bank Visa Debit Card account, and any other MasterCards or Visa Cards at other financial institutions.

The Account Name - This is the title of the account where the payment will end up. You should obtain the payee's permission to make a payment using the Internet Banking service. This will help in the payee identifying your payment.

Please take care to ensure you input all the correct account details as other institutions will reject the transfer if the account number is incorrect.

What is the 'Pay Anyone' Service?

The Pay Anyone service provides the convenience of being able to transfer funds to an account with any financial institution in Australia*.

Customers should note that you will be required to register specifically for this service. Please call the Elders Rural Bank Internet and Phone Banking Support service on 1300 651 839, and request to register for the service. You will be requested to set your daily Pay Anyone transaction limit (maximum $5,000) that will cater to your requirements.

We realise that in some circumstances, customers will demand a higher daily transaction limit than $5,000 (e.g. business clients). If you require a higher limit, please contact the Elders Rural Bank Internet and Phone Banking Support service on 1300 651 839. You will be requested to complete and sign the appropriate authorisation form, the higher amount requested is subject to Bank approval.

*Any financial institution identified with a valid BSB number.
